How old do I have to be to open an FGB chequing account?

If you are under the age of 18, you can open an FGB chequing or savings account. A joint account holder is required, however, for account holders under the age of 18.

What is the minimum amount required to open a chequing account?

The minimum amount required to open a chequing account is J$10,000. However, a J$50,000 minimum is required for the Money Market Chequing Account. The minimum amount to open a Foreign Currency Chequing Account is US$500.

Do you have an account designed specifically for seniors?

All of FGB's accounts are available for senior citizens. Additionally, ask your FGB representative about the FGB Senior Advantage, that gives seniors access to special fees and rates.

Can I order cheques online?

Yes, as an online banking customer you can order cheques online by logging in and placing your order.

What does it cost to order cheques?

Call your FGB representative at 1-888-CALL FGB (225-5342) to find out the current fees for new cheque leaves.

How can I stop a payment?

You may request stop payment services for a cheque that has not already been accepted by FGB for processing. A fee will be charged to your account for all stop orders.

Is there a limit on the number of cheques that I can write?

There is no monthly or yearly limit on the number of cheques you can write.
